Medics were called to an Atwood business Thursday night for an industrial accident.
The incident was reported at approximately 7:45 p.m. at Crystal Lake Egg Products, 6500 W. Crystal Lake Rd. Atwood Fire Department and Multi-Township EMS were summoned to the scene where the victim reportedly caught her arm in a piece of machinery. The victim reportedly sustained a large laceration and lost consciousness.
Samaritan air ambulance was initially called but, upon arrival of paramedics, both the helicopter and the fire department were disregarded. The woman was transported by ambulance to the hospital.
Due to laws under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), the victim’s name will not be released.
