The IHSAA recently announced that the 2012 state soccer finals for both boys and girls will have a new home this fall.
The finals will be contested this season at the Michael A. Carroll Track and Soccer Stadium on the campus of IUPUI in Indianapolis. The IHSAA reached a one-year agreement on the venue change.
The State Finals are scheduled for Oct. 27 with the Class A boys title game at 10:30 a.m. The Class A girls contest is at 1 p.m., followed by the Class 2-A boys finale at 3:30 and the Class 2-A girls championship game at 6.
The IUPUI venue includes a newly-installed Field Turf Revolution surface that is both FIFA and NCAA compliant at 115 X 75 yards. The stadium is home to the IUPUI men’s and women’s soccer teams.
The State Finals, since the tournament’s inception in 1994, have previously been played at Kuntz Memorial Stadium in Indianapolis.
