Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department Deputies say a man failed to yield the right-of-way and caused a near head-on collision Thursday near Claypool.

Shortly after 4 p.m., police say Herman Frauhiger Jr., 79, of Claypool, was eastbound on Hoppus Road when he pulled into the path of a pickup truck, driven by Matt Poe, 41, Claypool. Poe was southbound on County Farm Road.

Claypool Police and Fire departments and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene. None of the injuries were life-threatening, but the drivers of both vehicles were taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for minor injuries, which included cuts and scrapes.

Both vehicles are believed to be total losses.
