Indiana Cities Appear on ‘Successful Aging’ List

Several Indiana communities have received high marks on the Best Cities For Successful Aging list, released by the California-based Milken Institute. The list ranks cities based on overall quality of life for seniors.

Of the 250 smaller metro areas ranked, the following Hoosier cities appear on the list:

26. Fort Wayne
31. Muncie
44. Evansville
113. Columbus
123. Terre Haute
125. Bloomington
158. South Bend-Mishawaka
172. Lafayette
196. Kokomo
213. Michigan City-La Porte
224. Anderson
244. Elkhart-Goshen

The institute also ranked the top 100 large metro areas. The following Indiana communities made the cut:

42. Indianapolis-Carmel
64. Chicago-Naperville-Joliet, Ill.-Ind.
69. Louisville-Jefferson County, Ken.-Ind.
72. Cincinnati-Middletown, Ohio-Ken.-Ind.
