The city of Warsaw is currently developing a plan for the community’s bicycle and pedestrian system and on Thursday, an open house will give the public an opportunity to sound off on what they would like to see as part of the system.

The purpose of the Warsaw + Winona Lake Bicycle and Pedestrian program is to create a strategy to increase bicycle and pedestrian activity and safety. Ultimately, the plan will provide guidelines for the location and type of proposed facilities throughout Warsaw and the town of Winona Lake.

To assist with the identification of opportunities, access issues, and the location of potential routes, all interested citizens are invited to attend the open house any time from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 26, at the Center Lake Pavilion, 119 E. Canal St., Warsaw.

The open house will be organized around four topical stations. Each station will provide opportunity for community input and engagement. Results from the open house will serve as a continuing guide for city staff and consultants in the development of the final Warsaw + Winona Lake Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan recommendations.

The open house format is informal so interested community members are invited to come and go throughout the two and a half hour timeframe. Warsaw city staff and consultants will be available to gather feedback and answer questions.
