The following events are upcoming at the Milford Public Library:

Storyteller

Melinda Roose, Milford, will be the final guest storyteller of the summer. She will be reading “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” by Jerry Pinkey at 11 a.m. July 20. There will also be a snack and craft.

Teens
Teens can bring their own t-shirt, socks, shorts or other articles of clothing to paint make their own glow in the dark clothing. The event will begin at 2 p.m. July 24, in the library meeting room. Snacks will be provided.
The Teen Lock-In is quickly approaching and teens must turn in their summer reading hours by July 27 in order to receive a ticket. Parents must speak to the director and sign a permission and insurance form before their teen can participate.

Special Events
The Groove Club will be visiting the Milford Community Center at 2 p.m. July 25 for a daytime slumber party. The Groove Club specializes in performing fun, high-energy and interactive songs for kids. Children are encouraged to wear pajamas and bring a teddy bear or blanket from home.
The Summer Reading Program Grand Finale picnic will begin at noon on August 1, at the Waubee Lake Pavilion. A sandwich, chips and drink will be available to all guests with tickets. Bring a bathing suit and parent to take a swim.

Knitting
The afternoon Knitting Club will meet from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. July 27, in the library meeting room. While the summer heat is still beating down on Milford, the knitting club is a great way to prepare for the cold months ahead.

Indiana State Parks
While high prices have made family vacations more difficult to budget, Indiana State Parks offer a cheaper adventure to get out of Milford. Potato Creek State Park is only 12 miles outside of South Bend and Indiana Dunes State Park overlooks Lake Michigan. Before you pack your bags, check out some books from the library that can prepare you for the adventure. Get a book on camping safety, like Janet Groene’s “Camping Digest: The complete guide to successful camping” or a book by John Gull in the adult nonfiction section.
