Dixie Days was first and foremost on the minds of the members of the North Webster-Tippecanoe Township Chamber of Commerce when they met at their monthly meeting Monday at the North Webster American Legion.

The fourth annual three-day Dixie Days will run from Thursday, July 26, through Saturday, July 28, and there is literally something for everyone. The area of the festivities has expanded from downtown and the North Webster Community Center out West Washington Street and to the Lions festival grounds as well as North Webster Town Park, on Dixie Drive.

Thursday begins with area wide garage sales and a comedy film festival while Friday adds sidewalk sales at downtown businesses and throughout the town, concerts by the Auburn Dixielanders Bank and the Charles Dalton Band, and hot air balloon rides.

Saturday is the big blow-out with food vendors, a vintage snowmobile show and swap meet, antique tent sale, fire station open house, car and bike show and live music all day downtown. Don’t miss out on the hog roast, corn hole tournament, Dixie games and special cruises, Ski Bees show and cash raffle.

Probably the largest draw is the juried art show in the lawn in downtown and the open air market at the North Webster Community Center.

Chamber President Tonya Bowser noted, “There is still some space for the art fair. If you are not chosen for it, you can still exhibit at the open air market, which is expanding this year.”

Dixie Days T-shirts for 2012 are now on sale around town. Members were reminded to sign up to help to help at the various areas during Dixie Days. Sign by calling the chamber at (574)-834-1600, Ext. 241, or emailing [email protected].

North Webster Community Center will be selling its raffle tickets for the Heart of the Community Auction and Raffle during Dixie Days outside the NWCC. This year’s prizes include a 2012 car or a new pontoon and a camper trailer.

During announcements, it was mentioned that the chamber is considering taking over the Webster Lake patriotic pier contest next year. Also, the Lake Tippecanoe Flotilla was postponed one week to Saturday, July 14. The theme is red, white and blue.

The next general meeting for the North Webster-Tippecanoe Township Chamber of Commerce will be noon, Monday, Aug. 13, at the American Legion.
