The New Paris Speedway will return to action tonight (July 3) after a crash there late Saturday night sent six people to the hospital.

The crash, which happened shortly before midnight, saw one of the racing cars collide with a wall and send debris into the stands. Six spectators were transported to the IU Health Goshen Hospital, where they all were treated for minor injuries and then released.

The damage at the track was repaired Monday.

The Speedway will host a “Destruction Night” tonight, which is similar to a demolition derby. The event begins at 7 p.m. with a fireworks show to follow it.
