Lester W. “Bud” Stabler, 91, of North Webster, Ind., passed away at 10:45 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2012, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse, Ind.

He was born on Jan. 2, 1921, in Syracuse to Arnold & Blanche (Wilkinson) Stabler. He graduated from New Paris High School and was a WWII Army Veteran. On June 6, 1941, in Syracuse he married Ethel Mary Niles who preceded him on March 28, 1991.  He was a farmer and member of the North Webster Church of God.

Mr. Stabler is survived by two daughters: Brenda (Rick) Hamman, North Webster; and Trudy Ann Smith, Georgia; seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and a sister: Ellie Hall, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and a brother: Raymond Stabler.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, June 18, at Owen Family Funeral Home, North Webster. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, at the Church of God, North Webster with Pastor Jeff Boyer officiating. Burial will follow in Solomon’s Creek Cemetery.
