Water and foam are being used to put out a trash fire east of Warsaw. (Photo by Stacey Page)Warsaw, Winona Lake and Pierceton fire departments are battling a trash fire behind a commercial building east of Warsaw.

According to Rob Barker of the WFD, approximately one acre is on fire. The burning materials include rubber tires.

The fire started at approximately 3 p.m. and was under control within 30 minutes, although it was producing thick, black smoke that could been for several miles.
