Emergency crews work to free a victim of a car crash on Wooster Road.
Two people were trapped in the wreckage of an accident that occurred at approximately 8:35 p.m. Tuesday night at 4406 E. Wooster Rd.

Warsaw and Pierceton fire departments were dispatched and Samaritan air ambulance was initially called, but was later disregarded.

According to a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department crash report, Zach Jones, 17, of Winona Lake, was westbound on Wooster Road when he said he lost control on gravel, then struck a utility pole. Jones and a passenger, Nathyn L. Jones, 14, also of Winona Lake, were both  trapped in the car until fire fighters arrived. Both boys were transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment.

A witness driving eastbound on Wooster Road told investigating officers Jones was operating the vehicle in the middle of the road. The witness said he had to swerve to avoid being struck.

Damages of the crash were estimated at up to $5,000.

Emergency personnel on scene included the Warsaw and Pierceton fire departments, KCSD, Indiana State Police, Pierceton Police and Multi-Township EMS.
