SECTIONAL PRIMER GOES WARRIOR WAY
In a virtual sectional preview, Wawasee and West Noble faced off Monday night just two days before the real show begins.

A four-run fifth inning from the Warriors put Wawasee ahead to stay, eventually winning 7-1 at Wawasee. The two teams will play at 5 p.m. Wednesday in the first game of the Wawasee Sectional with the season on the line.

John Beer had a monster offensive night, going four-for-four with a double, contributing half of Wawasee’s hit output. Beer’s bat helped Andrew Milligan get the win, working five innings of one-run ball. Nate Hare worked the final two innings on the hill to close the game out.

At the Wawasee Sectional, Wawasee (7-18) will host West Noble (4-21) Wednesday, with Fairfield (18-9) and Tippecanoe Valley (13-8) battling Thursday at 5 p.m. The winners from the two games will meet at 9 a.m. on Monday, with Lakeland (7-20-1) and NorthWood (19-8) playing at noon. The Wawasee Sectional championship will begin at 5 p.m. Monday.
